Dana is the proud owner of Hound Hikes – Wellington’s trusted dog walking service since 2015. Hound Hikes was originally founded by the amazing duo Tabitha and Mike, who built a business full of heart, adventure, and happy tails. Since then, it’s become a beloved part of the local dog-loving community, and she feels incredibly honoured to continue the journey they started.

With a lifelong love for dogs, a passion for the outdoors, and a deep respect for the Hound Hikes legacy, She’s here to make sure your pups are not just well cared for, but genuinely excited for every walk. Whether it’s an on leash stroll or an off leash frolic with the pack, She’s all about safe, stimulating, and joyful experiences for your furry best friends.

Martha

Kia Ora I’m Martha! I was born in Germany but grew up in regional Western Australia and am now studying English Literature at VUW! In my spare time I love reading, tramping, climbing, & attending live music. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and I love getting to know every dogs quirks and charms while exploring the great outdoors.

Kaylee

Kia ora! I am a clinical psychology student at Victoria University. I grew up with a beautiful labrador named Mambo, and now have a cute chihuahua x maltese named Snickers at my family home in Blenheim. I absolutely love working for hound hikes and hanging out with all your gorgeous pups!! Taking your doggos for a hike is the highlight of my day :)

Maegan

I'm currently studying History, Politics, and Criminology at Otago University. I'm a passionate animal lover, especially when it comes to dogs! I have a labradoodle named Heidi who’s my adventure buddy—we love exploring the bush together. I’m proud to be part of the Hound Hikes team as their holiday cover, and always look forward to spending time with all the wonderful dogs.

Mia

I'm a super passionate ecology student that moved to Wellington from Auckland almost a year and a half ago for university. My favorite thing about my time in Wellington so far has been engaging with local conservation efforts throughout the community. I've grown up with dogs all my life and am definitely a dog person. Working with the dogs at hound hikes is a great opportunity for me to get away from my studies and get some paw therapy. A highlight of this job for me is seeing how excited each and every pup gets when I come to pick them up as I feel like their walk is the highlight of their day.

Alice

I moved from Nelson to Wellington just over three years ago to study paramedicine, and I’ve loved every moment of it. I’m passionate about emergency medicine and hope to use my training to help people around the world. I’ve always had a deep love for animals—especially dogs—and miss my family dog dearly. Spending time with the pups at Hound Hikes is the highlight of my week; there's nothing better than getting outside and sharing a walk with a furry friend.

Laila

Kia ora! I’m Laila, a Master’s student at Victoria University, where I’m studying Climate Change Science and Policy. My lifelong love for animals has led me to spend many years working with horses, pet sitting, and volunteering at animal shelters. I joined Hound Hikes in February 2025 and have been absolutely loving it—getting to know your dogs and taking them on some of the best walks around Wellington is the highlight of my day!

Ruby

Kia ora, I’m Ruby! I am originally from Tāmaki Makaurau but moved to Te Whanganui-a-tara for my degree. I am currently a student at Massey University, studying Journalism and Photography. I am super adventurous and love hiking with your pups. I am also extremely extroverted, so I love meeting the parents of our pups.

Mikayla

Kia Ora! I’m Mikayla and I’m currently a student at Te Herenga Waka, doing my honours in Cultural Anthropology and Environmental Studies. I’ve always had a love for animals and pestered my parents to get as many as possible growing up. I have volunteered at a number of local Vet clinics and dog shelters and am so thankful to be taking all your gorgeous pups on their hikes!
